On July 2 2025 the Poughkeepsie Fire Department responded to a report of a distraught male teenager attempting to commit suicide along the Walkway Over the Hudson pedestrian bridge. The individual is purported to be twitter user sweetlotusfish who identifies as a transgender female. They posted an image from the bridge captioned bridges really do make for pretty views similar to that of another trans twitter user who committed suicide exactly two months prior burntfishie or Charlotte Fosgate. First responders part of the Hostage Negotiation Team successfully negotiated with the individual who was then brought to the MidHudson Regional Hospital for further treatment.
