Sacramento PSN- A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning following a stabbing incident in the Old Sacramento area according to observations by Public Safety News and information released by the Sacramento Police Department. The incident occurred around 220 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Front St. near the south end of Old Sacramento.According to PSN observations Sacramento police officers initially began responding to reports of a large crowd gathering in the area that required dispersal. As officers were responding additional reports came in regarding a related stabbing. When officers arrived they located a 20-year-old male suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds to the neck and arm. Officers immediately initiated medical treatment attempting to control the bleeding. Sacramento Fire Department medics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital with lights and sirens.A large crime scene was established spanning the south end of Front Street between K and L streets. Officers set up inner and outer perimeters while crime scene investigators photographed and collected evidence as officers interviewed witnesses. Officer Anthony Gamble spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department in a media release stated officers responded to reports of a fight and one person was stabbed. Gamble said officers located a victim suffering from what was described as a non-life-threatening injury. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
