Where do you turn to learn about comedy, writing, and performing? I'm looking to other comics who have blazed a trail already. Especially those who have a story of working hard, starting with no material, just an idea, and a dream to take the stage and make others laugh. Steve Martin's story in his book "Born Standing Up: A Comics Life" is a power-punch of inspiration and instruction on this crazy idea of attempting stand-up comedy. Enjoy this book review where I share five key takeaways and one big ahh-hah from his book.
