http://www.attractionchecklist.com - This episode Suzie and I head to Disneyland to ride and review Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage! Recorded on February 7, 2019.
TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
This episode Suzie and I visit Disneyland to ride the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. Located in Tomorrowland, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is described on the Disneyland website by saying: Journey into the charming world of Disney·Pixar's Finding Nemo on a gentle undersea expedition. There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the Thrill Level describes the ride as being a slow water ride that is Dark and Loud.
Before we dive somewhere beyond the sea, here are five fast facts about the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
1. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage opened officially on June 11, 2007. It was a retime of the classic Submarine Voyage attraction that operated at the park from 1959 to 1998.
2. After the original Submarine Voyage was closed, sever different ideas for retheming the attraction around Disney properties were developed. These included rides based on Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet and even The Little Mermaid. Around 2004, the decision was made to give the ride a theme based on the Disney·Pixar film, Finding Nemo.
3. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage attraction holds a whopping 6,300,000 gallons of water!
4. The rides eight submarine vehicles are original to the 1959 Submarine Voyage attraction. When the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage opened in 2007, all but one of the submarines were renamed. The one that remained the same was the Nautilus.
5. Listen carefully to the Captain's spiel at the end of the ride. He mentions surfacing before we have a run-in with a sea-serpent or an encounter with a mermaid. These are tributes to the classic Submarine Voyage attraction where both of those fantastical events took place.
Now let's climb aboard our submarine and see if we can find Nemo and friends. Suzie is along for the ride and after the voyage we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland.

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is the marquee attraction of Disney's Hollywood Studios. In this episode, John and I check in to the Hollywood Tower Hotel to review Tower of Terror! Recorded on March 20, 2019.
TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
This episode John B. deHaas and I return to Disney's Hollywood Studios to ride one of the park's signature attractions, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! The guide map describes this attraction saying Take a thrilling ride into the twilight zone aboard a haunted elevator. Guests must be 40 inches or taller to ride this attraction. The thrill level describes it as a Thrill Ride with Big Drops that is loud and scary. Fastpass+ is available.
Before we visit the Hollywood Tower Hotel, here are five fast facts about The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios on July 22, 1994.
2. In order to get the perfect free-fall effect for guests, imagineers actually attached cables to the bottom of the elevators to pull them down faster than a regular free fall would. The elevator cars can reach speeds of 39 miles per hour! 15 times the speed of a regular elevator.
3. In 2004, the attraction was reprogrammed to use a randomized series of drops. This provides each group of guests with a completely different experience each time they ride. This led to the promotional slogan: Never the Same Fear Twice
4. The attraction's pre-show was directed by director Joe Dante, known for directing such horror films as Piranah, The Howling and Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
5. One of my favorite Tower of Terror facts is that it can actually be seen from EPCOT's World Showcase Lagoon! The top of the Tower of Terror was decorated so that it blended in with the skyline of the Morocco pavilion and be less noticeable.
Now it's time to ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! After the ride, John and I will discuss our thoughts on this attraction so stay tuned for that. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - This episode, John and I head over to Disney's Hollywood Studios to watch the classic Muppet*Vision 3D. What rating will it receive? Tune in and see! Recorded on March 20, 2019.
TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
In this episodes we Meet The Muppets as we head to Disney's Hollywood Studios to watch Muppet*Vision 3D. The park's guide map says: Experience the magic of The Muppets in this 3D extravaganza. There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and, funnily enough, no Thrill Level is listed. That said, FastPass+ is available.
Before we visit Muppet Labs, here are five fast facts about Muppet*Vision 3D
1. Muppet*Vision 3D opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios on May 16, 1991. This was well before Disney purchase the rights for the Muppets making the attraction a unique collaboration between Jim Henson Productions and Walt Disney Imagineering. Disney purchased the Muppets in 2004.
2. Muppet*Vision 3D is Jim Henson's last Muppet film as director and one of his final performances as Kermit the Frog. Jim Henson died in 1990 before production on the film was complete. Muppet*Vision 3D would also be the final film performance of Muppeteer Richard Hunt who played Scooter, Sweetums and Beaker amongst others in the show. Richard Hunt died in 1992
3. The script for Muppet*Vision 3D was written by Bill Prady who also wrote the script for the Honey, I Shrunk The Audience attraction. Bill Prady would later go on to co-write the 2015 revival of The Muppets on ABC but his most successful venture has been co-creating the hit tv series The Big Bang Theory.
4. When the show first opened, puppeteers from The Jim Henson Company were on hand to train the suit performers who would be operating Sweetums in the exact methods of how the character should walk and move. In recent years, Sweetums will pop out into the lobby briefly to wave to the fans waiting to enter the theater. This doesn't happen all the time but it is pretty unique when it does.
5. In 2014, around the release of the film Muppets Most Wanted, the villain Constantine was added to the pre-show as if he was interrupting the broadcast. This interruption remained in the pre-show until December of 2016.
Let's not waste any time, let's start the show. Joining me once again is John B. deHaas and after the show we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience MuppetVision 3D at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Join Suzie and Grant as they visit Disneyland to watch and review the new nighttime spectacular Mickey's Mix Magic! With fireworks! Recorded on February 7, 2019.
TRANSCRIPT:
This episode finds us at Disneyland to check out the park's newest piece of nighttime entertainment, Mickey's Mix Magic! Disneyland's website says: Light up the night at this new, high-energy show celebrating Disney's legendary duo Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Before we hear DJ Mickey spin some tunes, here are five fast facts about Mickey's Mix Magic at Disneyland Park.
1. Mickey's Mix Magic officially debuted at Disneyland on January 18, 2019.
2. There are three viewing areas for the show, Main Street U.S.A., the facade of It's A Small World and water projection screens on the Rivers of America. Each of these locations has custom projection designs promising a slightly different experience in each location.
3. It's interesting to note that the show will not feature fireworks every single performance. The show was written as a projection show with fireworks adding enhancement to the proceedings on select nights only. On the night the audio for this episode was recorded, there were fireworks.
4. The show uses more that 2 dozen video projectors and 14 of those projectors are on Main Street USA!
5. The song featured in the show, It's a Good Time by the Deekompressors, was written especially for Mickey's Mix Magic.
Now it's time to celebrate Mickey Mouse with Mickey's Mix Magic. Suzie was with me the night I recorded this and, even though she snuck off to get an ice cream during the show, her and I discuss the show after the audio. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Mickey's Mix Magic at Disneyland!

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - It's time for John and I to visit our laughin' place as we visit Magic Kingdom to ride Splash Mountain! Recorded on March 21, 2018.
TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
This episode we find ourselves in a whole new kind of Briar Patch as we head to Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World to experience Splash Mountain. Magic Kingdom's guidmap describe the attraction by saying, "Enjoy a thrilling log flume ride based on 'Song of the South.'" Guests must be 40" or taller to ride and FastPass+ is available. The thrill level of this attraction describes the ride as a Thrill Ride and a Water Ride with Big Drops.
Now we covered Splash Mountain at Disneyland back in episode 8 and the development of the ride at Magic Kingdom followed the same path, but here are some more fast facts about Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom.
1. Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom opened officially on October 2, 1992. Interestingly, the Splash Mountain attraction in Tokyo Disneyland opened the day before making for almost simultaneous attraction openings.
2. The original Splash Mountain in Disneyland is located in the Critter Country area of the park. With no Critter Country in Magic Kingdom, Imagineers decided to build the attraction in Frontierland.
3. Because of the attraction being located in Frontierland, the soundtrack of Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountain differs in instrumentation from Disneyland's. Disneyland's features more of a big band sound while Magic Kingdom's soundtrack has a more bluegrass feel.
4. Nick Stewart who voiced B'rer Bear in the film, Song of the South also voices the character in this attraction.
5. The Magic Kingdom version of Splash Mountain has 68 animatronics. Far fewer than Disneyland's 103. Of course, the Magic Kingdom Splash Mountain didn't have the benefit of the closing of America Sings! The attraction where all the animatronics came from.
Now, let's ride Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountain! Joining me once again is John B. deHaas and after the show we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
This episode takes us to Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World to experience the park's nighttime spectacular Rivers of Light. The guide map describes this show by saying, "Surrender to the beauty and harmony of all living things during this music-filled spectacle of water, light and legend. This is an all ages attractions and FastPass+ is offered.
Now before we hear the show, here are five fast facts about Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
1. First announced in October of 2013, Rivers of Light officially opened at Disney's Animal Kingdom on February 17, 2017. It had been originally planned to open on April 22, 2016, but technical difficulties prevented it from doing so.
2. The 15 minute long show is unique in that it is a Disney Park spectacular that features no fireworks. The reason for this is because the fireworks would scare the animals that call the park home.
3. The animals that called DIsney's Animal Kingdom home got a sneak preview of Rivers of Light before anyone else. For months before the show opened, the soundtrack of the show along with prerecorded audience noise was played as the park's animals were bedding down for the night so they could get used to the new sounds in their environment.
4. The music for Rivers of Light was composed by the team of Don Harper, Mark Mancina and Dave Metzger with lyrics by Miriam Stockley who also performs some of the chants during the show.
5. The show's unique animal barges that float around the lagoon on Discovery River do not have drivers aboard as they are remotely controlled.
Now it's time for us to experience, Rivers of Light. Joining me for the show is John B. deHaas and after the show we'll give you our thoughts on this attractions. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
Let's head to Fantasyland in Disneyland to ride the classic attraction Pinocchio's Daring Journey! Disneyland's website describes the attraction by saying, "Relive the classic adventures of the wooden puppet who dreamed of becoming a real boy." There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the thrill level describes the ride as being a slow ride that is dark, loud and scary.
Before we skip school to become actors, here are five fast facts about Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
1. Though this attractions feels like a classic, Disneyland Opening Day attraction, it actually opened at Disneyland on May 23, 1983.
2. The outside of the attraction is based on concept art that artist Gustaf Tengren did for the movie Pinicchio for Stromboli's theatre before production decided to make Stromboli a traveling performer.
3. Before you head inside to ride this attraction, take a look at the roof of the building and see if you can spot the weather vane in the shape of Monster the Whale. It's a little warning of things to come.
4. Pinocchio's Daring Journey was the first attraction created by Disney to use holographic imagery which appears in the hand held mirror Lampwick is holding when he begins turning into a donkey.
5. The Blue Fairy that appears at the end of the attraction using the classic Pepper's Ghost illusion. The same illusion used in the Grand Hall scene of the Haunted Mansion.
Now it's time to wish upon a star and ride Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Along for the ride today is John B. deHaas and after we ride we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Pinocchio's Daring Journey.

Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
Today we head to Disney's Hollywood Studios to check out Voyage of The Little Mermaid. The guide map describes this attraction in the following manner: Celebrate the highlights of The Little Mermaid in this live show. This attraction has no age limits and Fastpass+ is available.
Here now are five fast facts about Voyage of The Little Mermaid.
1. Voyage of The Little Mermaid debuted at Disney's Hollywood Studios on January 7, 1992 in the Animation Courtyard Theatre.
2. The show put a heavy emphasis on puppetry as during the Under The Sea number, there are over 100 black light puppets on stage.
3. The evil sea witch, Ursula is performed by a huge puppet that is 12 feet high and 10 feet wide and requires several puppeteers to operate.
4. The first actress to portray Ariel in this show, Leanza Cornett, went on to become Miss Florida and then Miss America. She has gone on to have roles on TV Shows such as The Tick and CSI.
5. Voyage of The Little Mermaid has had a long run in the Animation Courtyard theatre but it was not the first show to play there. The puppeteer filled voyage under the sea replaced another puppet related show…Here Comes The Muppets. Ironically, that show didn't use puppets, it used walk-around versions of The Muppets characters.
Now it's time to experience Voyage ofThe Little Mermaid. After the attraction audio, I'll give you my thoughts on this Disney's Hollywood Studios stage show. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
It's time to take a gran circle tour of Disneyland on the Disneyland Railroad. Disneyland's website says, "Embark on a relaxing 18-minute scenic journey aboard an authentic steam-powered train around Disneyland Park." There are no age or height restrictions to ride the train and the Thrill Level describes the attraction as being Slow, dark and loud. Before we climb aboard, here are five fast facts about the Disneyland Railroad.
Before we begin our mountain climbing adventure, here are five fast facts about Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds.
1. The Disneyland Railroad began operation on Disneyland's opening day on July 17, 1955. In fact, Walt Disney himself pulled the train into Main Street Station that morning on his way to give the park's opening dedication.
2. The Railroad features five restored steam locomotives named C.K. Holliday, E.P. Ripley, Ernest Marsh, Fred Gurley and the Ward Kimball, The first four are named after American locomotive legends, the fifth, the Ward Kimball, is named after the Disney animator who is credited for inspiring Walt Disney's love of trains. The older locomotive, the Fred Gurly, was built in August of 1894.
3. One of the most anticipated parts of the Grand Circle Tour is the journey through the Grand Canyon and Primeval World Dioramas. The Grand Canyon diorama debuted in 1958 and features an amazing background mural painted by Delmer J. Yoakum that is 306 feet long and 34 feet tall. The Primeval world diorama opened in 1966 and features audio animatronic dinosaurs that were build for the Ford's Magic Skyway attraction in the 1964 New York World's Fair.
4. The Railroad features a special train car, the Lilly Belle, named after Walt Disney's wife Lillian. It is the last remaining 'opening day' car that is still in service, albeit only occasionally. Guests can pay to ride in the car as part of the separately ticketed Gran Circle Tour. Sometimes the first 14 guests in line at Main Street Station when the park opens in the morning will get a chance to ride in it as well.
5. On January 11, 2016, the Disneyland Railroad closed for over a year to accommodate construction of Disneyland newest land, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. When the train resumed operation on July 29, 2017, the new line line had the trains making a left turn for the first time in the attraction's history.
Now let's ride the Disneyland Railroad for a Grand Circle Tour of Disneyland. Along for the ride is John B. deHaas and after we ride we'll give you our thoughts on this opening day attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we take a ride on the Disneyland Railroad.

TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to Attraction Checklist.
Let's head to Disneyland to conquer one of the park's many mountains! It's time to ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The Disneyland website describes this attraction by saying, "Careen through a snow-capped mountain on a speeding alpine sled while avoiding the clutches of the mythic Abominable Snowman."
Guests must be 42" or taller to ride and Fastness and Single Rider options are available for this attraction. The thrill level describes the Matterhorn Bobsleds as being a Thrill and Water ride with Small Drops that is Dark, Loud and Scary.
Before we begin our mountain climbing adventure, here are five fast facts about Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds.
1. The Matterhorn Bobsleds opened at Disneyland on June 14, 1959. Located on the border of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, the Matterhorn Bobsleds was not officially a part of any land until the 1970s, when the attraction became a permanent part of Fantasyland.
2. The Matterhorn Bobsleds holds the distinction of being the first tubular steel roller coast in the world.
3. The ride's famous Abomidable Snowman was given the name Harold by Disney Imagineers when he took up residence in the mountain in the 1970s.
4. On January 5, 2015, the ride began an extensive refurbishment to install new new effects and updated animatronics for Harold. One of the original Harold figures can now be spotted in the Collectior's Collection at the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout attraction at Disney California Adventure
5. Yes, the rumors are true. There is a basketball hoop inside the Matterhorn. While not a regulation sized half-court, there is a basketball hoop and playing area in the attraction that is said to have been used by the mountain climber who scaled the mountain regularly to wave at guests down below.
And now, let's ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Along for the ride is John B. deHaas and after we ride, we'll give you our initial thoughts on this classic attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we are about to experience, the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland.
