In this episode, Vanessa explains how her agency optimizes analytics to help investigate and reduce crimes, and how her training through the IALEIA’s FIAT program has prepared her for the role of an analyst in this mission. Vanessa also explains how getting a degree in another industry (i.e., her MBA) has helped her leverage strategies and proactive approaches from another discipline. Vanessa is passionate about helping people break into the analytical field, and provides insight on what area of focus students should consider, and her thoughts on the current and future state of the profession. Vanessa is currently an Analyst with the Ministry of National Security Jamaica and current Chairperson for the IALEIA Emerging Professionals Group.
