  • Procrastination - Audio Tidbits Podcast
I, James, have been a shirker. It's that procrastination thing. It does look like no longer than I have been at podcasting, I would be more on my game. At least I am being up front with you about my lapse.

I have posted my explanation. You can listen and judge for yourself.

I know, it's a pretty feeble substitute for a real podcast but it might be worth a little chuckle at my expense. Don't worry. I have it coming.

In episode 115 of How To Matter, I continue the series on helping children with school and learning problems. This is the next to the last section of the series. • HTM 113 – School Bells (viii) – How To Matter
In episode 113 of How To Matter, I continue the series on helping children with school and learning problems. Focus is on children who get bad grades and those youngsters who have trouble asking for help or refuse the help that is offered. These two signs are intimately connected. Children who get good grades do not need help or more likely have figured out how to get the help they need and where to get it. Children who get bad grades likely are not getting the help they need; and if they don't know how to get it or refuse offered help, their situation will only get worse. The podcast offers a few suggestions for helping those children.

  • HTM 112 – School Bells (vii) – How To Matter
In episode 112 of How To Matter, I continue the series on helping children with school and learning problems. In this episode, we focus on three signs of school and learning problems. For these signs, although they may suggest learning problems, they usually do not. Rather, they are simply part of normal child development. The signs are forgetting to do home work and other chores at home, having trouble understanding and following directions and instructions, and problems with time management. Each of these signs may be serious indications of learning problems but usually are not. The message is that children tend to follow the examples set for them by parents and others in the home. The first step is to be sure the example being set is positive. Children can hardly be expected to do better than the adults whose example they are following.
