You were doing so good. Fuck! What happened to you? Months have gone by since you last lashed out at anyone, but lately, you have been getting more irritable, restless, and discontent! You have been a bear to be around, and nobody wants to tell you how much of a dick you really are. So, let us say it, “You’re a fucking dick!” Since you got sober, you have made great strides in managing your affairs and holding up your end of the bills, and you haven’t been arrested in such a long dang time! Good for you! But what good is it being sober if you are still a slave to your emotions? Underneath it all, you know you’re not “fit for purpose.” There is something still eating at your soul. Stopping you from living the life you desire. What is that feeling? That is the “thing” gnawing at you and knocking you on the head. That “thing” is your spiritual condition, and it sucks. You are living like a dry drunk. And if you don’t do something about that, too, you will end up drugging and drinking soon enough. If you really want to stay sober, address that shit now.
