  • The Liturgy of the Hours is a School of Humility

    Send us Fan Mail

The Liturgy of the Hours is much more than a set of books. It is the living liturgical prayer of the Church!

We spend a lot of time talking about which breviaries to buy, how to navigate them, and how to pray the different hours, but I think we spend far less time talking about what it actually means to enter into the prayer of the Church, and why this prayer should have such an important place in our lives.

In this episode, I wanted to focus less on the practical aspects of praying the Divine Office and more on the disposition with which we approach liturgical prayer. The Liturgy of the Hours is not simply another devotion we can add to our daily routine. It is intimately connected to the Eucharist, extending the praise and worship of the Mass throughout the hours of the day.

I also talk about something I think we often overlook: the liturgy is not primarily about our individual religious experience. We don't come to it simply looking for something that speaks to us or makes us feel closer to God. We enter into something much greater than ourselves, the prayer of the whole Church, united to the eternal worship of heaven.

And perhaps one of my favorite aspects of the Divine Office is the way it teaches us to sanctify time itself. Morning and evening, the rising and setting of the sun, the ordinary rhythm of our days—all of these become opportunities to turn our hearts toward God. Our lives outside of Mass are not separate from our liturgical lives, but should prepare us to participate more fruitfully in the sacred mysteries.

There is so much more to the Liturgy of the Hours than learning how to pray it, and I hope this episode encourages you to reflect a little more deeply on what the Church has entrusted to us in this beautiful prayer!

  • Cast down, then lifted up / stuck in Advent / Ascension confusion / the podcast lives on!

    Send us Fan Mail

I'm back! The podcast is not dead! I'm back with a casual episode about what the Lord has been doing in my life the last few months, and hopefully encourage you to give him the space and time He needs to speak to you.

Honestly, the ascension has always been a bit confusing to me so I share about this as well, and about why I couldn't get past the advent season for so long!

    Send us Fan Mail

  • My book of the year! / What I learned about chastity (the most misunderstood virtue?) / Pope Leo's Prayer for Discernment

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, I talk about my book of the year: Chastity by Bishop Erik Varden. I picked it up during Lent kind of unexpectedly. And no—this isn’t a book just about celibacy or saying “no” to things. It’s about living with wholeness, poise, and freedom. An elegance of the heart.

I share how this book helped me understand chastity not as repression, but as integration. It’s about bringing order to the senses, emotions, and desires so we’re not ruled by them—and that leads to a kind of inner peace and beauty I hadn’t experienced before.

Basically, chastity is for everyone. It’s not just about what you don’t do—it’s about living free from possessiveness and learning how to love rightly. I end the episode with a prayer for discernment from Pope Leo that I’ve been praying myself lately. I hope this episode encourages you to see chastity in a whole new way.

    Send us Fan Mail
