  • Part 02 - Face the Fear with Tristram Reddick
Welcome to Part Two of our yarn with Trys Reddick.
A message from Trys, "A bit about me, so I was diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, OCD and Agoraphobia when I was 13 and left school when I was 14, having Home Ed to finish off my GCSE's (I'm from the UK). Having Home Ed gave me an excuse not to go out and my Agoraphobia got worse, living as a recluse for 10 years. In my Mid 20's I had a holiday to Perth to see my Grandparents who were ill. While over here I had an awesome spiritual experience and felt Kwinana would one day be my home. I went back to the UK after 2 months and started a journey of recovery. After 5 years I got the opportunity to come over on a 2 year student visa to study for a Diploma in Community Services and on completion of that I worked in Employment Services. I stayed in the industry 5 years and then left and have been training Mental Health First Aid ever since. I currently live in Kwinana, 5 mins away from where my Grandparents live.
My passion is about talking about mental health especially for guys. 75% of suicides are male and part of that is that we don't talk about how we're travelling. I have lost 7 people in my life, all men. I think it's important we reach out to people and get them to talk.
I run my own MHFA Training business now full time, I also film YouTube videos and just getting started again with podcasts. Last year I co-founded the Kwinana Alliance against Depression and also funded and co-founded the Songs of Hope project. The project was a collaboration between myself and Foundation to Wellness and we took 10 singer / songwriters with lived experience of mental illness and supported them to write their own song around the theme of hope. The Spotify link below allows you to download the album for free Check them out and let me know what you think.

  • Who am I to Judge? - Craig Spence
Craig Spence is a loving father and due to his unfortunate circumstances of Parental Alienation he plays a key role as a Brand Ambassador for The Australian Dads Network, and for the U Matter Dad Foundation.
As a Founding Director of World Kindness Australia (WKA); he is committed to building and strengthening inclusivity, kindness and parental equality across the nation.
He is currently a Director for a National Medical Device organisation, saving lives, providing Defibrillators across Australia, New Zealand, Oceania & the UK, and he is the COO for the Waterline Foundation.
Craig joined the Australian Army serving 7 years full time and 10 years part time with one overseas deployment, and amongst other duties trained the elite soldiers on health and fitness.
It was during this time he witnessed first hand a culture which struggled to be the best it could be which reminded him of his childhood where he was severely bullied at school.
As a result Craig was instinctively drawn to the core values of kindness and equality to address cultures of exclusion, bullying and Parental Alienation.
Despite Craig's wide range of interests and commitments he manages to find the time within his hectic schedule to invest in making a difference to the community through his Brand Ambassadorial roles and engaging the corporate sector to place Kindness on the agenda.
