What do cheating husbands, flirtatious students, and deceased dogs have in common? Uh, we’re not really sure, but it moved us! This week on Authorized, Hannah, Andrew and Andrew pick apart the 2007 film The Jane Austen Book Club. If we’re not covering a book based on a movie, it’s gotta be a movie about books! But we’ll never cover a movie because it's based on a book, ever! It's important to Overbye that you understand that's not what's happening here. Them’s the rules. Also we get very into our cats’ various health issues on this one. Be warned.
Ah, 1969. The flamethrowers, the cultist murders, the unfettered gore. This week on Authorized, it's Once Upon A Time in Hollywood! Probably the only novelization we'll ever cover that's written by the director of the film, and arguably it's not a novelization at all. Follow your fearless hosts as we interrogate whether this director's fanfic of his own film improves, detracts, or so-so's original.

Next week: Batman Forever by Peter David.
Today on Authorized, we discuss the novelization of Bloodshot, a book filled with grisly futuristic violence and grislier implications about the future of capitalism. Then we have the pleasure of interviewing its author, Gavin G. Smith!
Our interview with Gavin begins around 1:08:00.

Next week on Authorized: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood by Quentin Tarantino
This week we're joined by multi-disciplinary artist Liz Falstreau to discuss the novelization of the 90's film based on the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations. It's a timeless story of a boy dealing with a crush and also the escaped convict who is fixated on him. We discuss the invincibility of Chris Cooper, debate whether Ethan Hawke is a hunk, and somehow end up talking about Cars 3. It's a podcast! Staying on topic is hard.

Next Week: Bloodshot by Gavin G. Smith (With guest Gavin G. Smith!)
Is Artemis Gordon a dangerous madman, or the 19th century's most visionary inventor? This week, Max Fitzpatrick of The Max and Tony Show talks Wild Wild West, from its myriad Burger King toys to its Razzie-nominated theme song. Hop on Kevin Smith's (alleged) giant mechanical spider as we crack open Bruce Bethke's opus.

This week on Authorized, Patrick Willems tells us the sad tale of Jedi Master Syfo-Dyas, and we break down Sheev Palpatine's Nixon Tapes. It's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover! A book as good as the movie is not good.
Keep a lookout for Patrick's upcoming film on Nebula in the coming months! And check out all his Youtube content so you're caught up by then- https://www.youtube.com/c/patrickhwillems

This week Andrew, Andrew, Hannah and Johnny make Michael Crichton roll in his grave by reading the junior novelization of Jurassic Park. Gail Herman was so preoccupied with whether or not she could, she never stopped to think if she should.
