  • Interview with Award-winning Author Ritu Anand
In this interview, Tracy sits down with award-winning author, Ritu Anand to discuss her heartwarming children's book, Kara's Dreams.
Ritu Anand draws her inspiration from nature around her and her scripture – Sri Guru Granth Sahibjee.
When she sat down to write Kara’s Dreams, her pen flowed its ink onto paper, as a river floods its banks. The beautiful verse within the scripture that guided her story provides – Pavan Guru, Paani Pita, Mata Dharadh Mahat, Divas Raat Duii Dayee Daya, Khaileh Sagal Jagat. It means the Wind is the Guru. Water is the Father. Earth is the Mother. Day and Night are caretakers. All the elements – Wind, Water, Earth, Night and Day work in concert to enable creatures to play and enjoy this playground called Earth.

  • Benjamin Stevenson: EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE - with Kristopher Zgorski
Benjamin Stevenson is an award-winning stand-up comedian and author. His first novel, Greenlight, was shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Award for Best Debut Crime Fiction, and his second novel, Either Side of Midnight, was shortlisted for the International Thriller Writers Award for Best Original Paperback.
Knives Out and Clue meet Agatha Christie and The Thursday Murder Club in this fiendishly clever blend of classic and modern murder mystery.
Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some are just unfortunate.
I’m Ernest Cunningham. Call me Ern or Ernie. I wish I’d killed whoever decided our family reunion should be at a ski resort, but it’s a little more complicated than that. Have I killed someone? Yes. I have. Who was it? Let’s get started.
Award-winning book blogger and reviewer, Kristopher Zgorski, of BOLO Books, joins Pam for this interview on Authors on the Air.

  • Lily-Brooks Dalton: A discussion about THE LIGHT PIRATE
THE LIGHT PIRATE: Told in four parts—power, water, light, and time--The Light Pirate mirrors the rhythms of the elements and the sometimes quick, sometimes slow dissolution of the world as we know it. It is a meditation on the changes we would rather not see, the future we would rather not greet, and a call back to the beauty and violence of an untamable wilderness.
"Brooks-Dalton has a different sort of vision for the post-apocalypse, one that’s not so dystopian . . . It’s good to read an alternate and more hopeful story of how life might be experienced on a planet that is partly dying but also evolving, even if fewer humans remain."
Lily Brooks-Dalton's most recent novel is The Light Pirate,, a Good Morning America Book Club selection, one of NPR's "Books We Love," and a New York Times Editors' Pick. She is also the author of Good Morning, Midnight, and the memoir, Motorcycles I’ve Loved, which was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. A former writer-in-residence at The Kerouac House and The Studios of Key West, she currently lives in Los Angeles.
"Brooks-Dalton turns a devastating dystopian vision on its head in this redemptive tale by asking whether life is sustainable without human connection. This exquisite novel will appeal to a diverse group of readers..." ―Library Journal, Starred Review

Franco witnesses what he thinks is a murder in the "empty" building across the street. But when the police cannot find a body, Franco's credibility is questioned. Then unexplained coincidences begin to happen. And is it possible those coincidences could possible be tied back to Franco's own father's brutal murder during an intense blackout in 1977.
