The coronavirus pandemic, a worldwide situation that has halted the Global Economy and changed the way we live. These are different times and signs of change are blatantly obvious as you drive through cities and small towns alike.

I have been fascinated with learning about local businesses and how they can empower themselves with the internet. There is no better time to make the transition than right now.

I spend a few minutes summing up my thoughts about the crisis and how I think businesses should empower themselves for the future.

We all have passwords. But where do they go? What happens when a password becomes vulnerable. How many Passwords do you need? I'm starting the digital hygiene conversation with passwords. These simple character combos entrust much more than access to an account. It's access to your entire digital footprint and sometimes even the image of yourself. Ring is a huge company, sort of a leader in the evolution of the doorbell. Owned by Amazon, Designed in California, and Made in China, Ring is sweeping the nation with their products and making an attempt to earn a spot on every doorstep in America. Caught up in a bit of a hot mess, Ring finds themselves in front off a huge challenge that any company faces when first starting. Trying to earn and keep the trust of their customer-base. Listen to me with my own thoughts about Ring and their relationship with law enforcement and consumers.

After some research I have to share with you what I've been finding out about these companies. They hold the most weight in the Tech conversation and thats why I decided to breakdown what I think about the core of "big tech".

I sat down and unboxed both of these light bulbs. I connected them to the Kasa Smart app and had great success gaining control and seeing how they worked. One of these bulbs presented a situation I wasn't expecting. I give my opinion on the situation and how I decided to react.

Technology can easily leave the human behind. In fact, the Human Element would be a robots least favorite thing if it had an opinion. I list off a few details about a list that I'm working on about SmartHome Compatibility. Not only should these devices be designed to work with each other, but are they designed to work with humans? I get into a few of these details and set the platform for a bigger conversation that will last longer than this episode.

I share the first 5 products that come to mind when it comes to starting with your smart house. Make your own choices, but I picked my favorite smart plug, bulb, thermostat, home speaker, and Control Hub. I don't spew too much detail (saving that for dedicated product episodes) but I make my case on why each of these are important to me, why I like them, and how I use them.
