  • 31. Rebalancing Your Portfolio with Passiv with Nick McCullum

In this episode I interviewed Nick McCullum from Passiv. Nick explains what Passiv is and how they are a great option for the busy professional who doesn’t have the time to constantly rebalance their portfolio manually. He explains how Passiv is able to make rebalancing your portfolio as easy as clicking a button.

Nick McCullum went to college to study biology when he quickly realized that this particular major did not interest him at all. He wanted to do something different but still graduate within that four-year period. He decided to major in math and that led him into the finance world and eventually to Passiv. Check out this episode and hear him explain how he got here and why he enjoys working with the team at Passiv.

  • 30. Why Commercial Real Estate is a Great Wealth Builder with Paul Moore

In this episode I had the privilege of interviewing Paul Moore. I talk with Paul about speculation versus investment, forced appreciation, and a variety of other topics related to commercial real estate investing. He shares how risky speculating can really dip into your net worth and how proper investing can increase it significantly. Paul is very knowledgeable about investing in commercial real estate, specifically multi-family, self-storage and mobile home parks.

Paul Moore started his professional life at Ford Motor company. His time there was short as he co-founded a staffing firm, becoming a finalist for Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year, two years in a row. Paul and his partner sold their staffing firm to a large publicly traded company and began investing in real estate. He later founded multiple investment and development companies, appeared on HGTV and is contributor to FOX Business and Bigger Pockets. Paul is the co-host on two podcasts called The Art of Investing and How to Lose Money.

  • 25. Should you use a Financial Coach or Financial Advisor with Brian Thorp | Wealthtender

In this episode we discuss when you should use a financial coach or a financial advisor with the founder of Wealthtender, Brian Thorp. We discussed in detail about when it’s appropriate to use a coach or an advisor. We also spoke about how it’s important to have that person to help hold you accountable in your own financial journey.

In 2019, Brian left his high paying six-figure financial services career in Texas to launch a startup. Crazy? Perhaps! He started working remotely from a small beach town in Mexico building a business to help millions of Americans achieve their financial goals. Everyone's finances have been impacted by the pandemic and the need for useful advice and guidance has become more important than ever. Brian believes there's never been a better time for our audience to find help with money matters from someone they can trust who truly understands their individual needs. He’s a huge fan of technology, but when it comes to financial advice and guidance, he explains why he believes artificial intelligence is no substitute for actual human intelligence.

In this episode with Anthanē Richie from Rich State of Mind, we discuss how he got started in his own journey into financial independence using real estate as his vehicle. He is a newer investor and gives a great perspective on his first investment properties. He is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and was recently selected for Chief Petty Officer. In the Navy, that is a significant milestone that he has achieved. It goes to show his determination in everything that he does. We talk a little bit about his career in the Navy and what drove his mindset to pursue financial independence. He talks about his partner Amyra and how she is integral to his operation. Side note, I have known Amyra for almost 18 years as we served on the same ship together just about 18 years ago. What a small world! Check out this episode and enjoy. • 23. Meet the firefighter with 50 units in 12 months with Kyle Robertson

In this episode with Kyle Robertson, we discuss how he got started in real estate. He explains how he managed to get some great deals including when he bought a storage facility. During his journey he explains how he was able to double his gains with that commercial property to jump start the growth of his portfolio. He discusses pressing the reset button with his family, selling everything, and starting over. That sounds scary doesn’t it? Well Kyle and his wife made it work. After hitting that reset button, they went on to purchase a few small apartment buildings totaling 50 doors. You have to listen to this episode and hear this awesome story.

Kyle Robertson is 36 years old, married and has three awesome kids residing in Oregon. He spent some of his school age in the Midwest in Missouri. That time in particular is kind of what drew him to that section of the United States when he got the bug to start investing.

  • 22. Using Local Lenders and the Unsexy Side of Real Estate Investing with Tim Carmon

In this episode we interview Tim Carmon. Tim and I served together in the Navy at the same command a few years ago. Tim has always been a go getter and it certainly showed in his Navy career. Tim and I were catching up on LinkedIn and started talking real estate and I asked him to come on and share his story with what he’s been doing. He explained how he was able to build a great relationship with his lender at a local bank to work out different finance options. Tim and his brother are putting in some great efforts to beautify and restore the local community that they invest in. It’s really neat to see a real estate investor putting in that extra effort to help and show how much they care.

Tim retired from the Navy after serving for 28 years. His goal was to have a few houses as rental properties before retiring. He wanted to build up his monthly income to accompany his retirement check. Both him and his brother do a lot of their own work to fix up the properties they buy.
