It’s kind of a running joke at Kotaku that games journalist Jason Schreier wants his colleague Kirk Hamilton to play Suikoden II.
Awesome Games Done Quick 2017 was happening while we were recording this podcast. The weeklong charity speedrunning marathon ended up raising over $2.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. “Kill the animals” versus “Save the animals” is a popular donation incentive for the marathon. It refers to the decision of whether or not to rescue the creatures at the end of Super Metroid.
