 The Father’s will and intention for all of humanity (and the reason for the engagement of the unstoppable plan of reconciliation through the redemptive act of Christ), was to restore worship—to end the despair of the separated, wounded, broken, defeated soul, and restore it to God in holy communion with him. Nehemiah wept, prayed, and worked to see the ultimate restoration of Jerusalem as the dwelling place of worship of the God of Israel.

 By studying the Word of God, we know that God’s wisdom is pure—perfect and without flaw. God’s wisdom will not fail. Above all, God’s wisdom manifests with perfect motivations, unlike any worldly sources of wisdom. His wisdom is not manipulative, selfish, or unkind, and neither are his ways. As James reminds us, God’s wisdom manifests as genuine peace, gentleness, and a willingness to yield to others. It is not harsh, demanding, or prideful.

 Saul, the persecutor of Christianity, became Paul, a herald for all things Christ. Repentance occurred, freedom was birthed, and abundant fruit was produced throughout Paul’s life and ministry for the cause of Christ. Prior to conversion, Paul had been destroying the very thing Jesus loved and gave his life for. Blind to the darkness of his heart and error of his ways, he was convinced his actions were pleasing to God.

 Have you ever seen two trees growing so closely together that, at one point, they meet, bind themselves together, and then continue growing as one tree? Our relationship with Christ is much like this. Once we have accepted salvation in Christ by his merciful grace and love, we are grafted into the vine, adopted into the family of God, one with Christ Jesus, feeding daily on the Bread of life.
