We also learn that the CIA did not limit itself to experimenting on Americans; they experimented on Canadian citizens as well! Bill sheds some light on secret detention camps. In this slightly disjointed episode we describe the CIA's MKUltra program (and how it potentially relates to the JFK assassination), and also conclude our introduction to J. Edgar Hoover. Regarding Hoover, we provide a brief overview of how he directed the FBI's investigation of John F. Kennedy's assassination. We also describe the relationship that Hoover had with Lyndon Johnson, and how they worked together both prior to and after the JFK assassination. We then turn our attention to MKUltra. We describe how through this program the CIA experimented on unwitting U.S. citizens, by administering high doses of psychoactive drugs (such as LSD). We also mention various other methods that the CIA experimented with in their attempts to manipulate their subjects' mental states and brain functions, such as electroshocks, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, sexual abuse, and torture. We describe the origins of MKUltra, and what the CIA was hoping to accomplish with the program.
