Louis “Luchiano “Silverstein, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Humanities (Emeritus), Columbia College Chicago, where he also served as Dean of the College and Chair of the Dept. of Life Arts & Liberal Education. He is a transcendental philosopher and practitioner, educator, author, storyteller, sand writer, terra artist, public speaker and societal/cultural activist. He is the author of "Deep Spirit and Great Heart: Living In Marijuana Consciousness," "Encountering Life’s Endings" and "Blow Your Mind, Open Your Heart and Teach Your Soul." His studies and presentations have taken him to settings throughout the U.S., Jamaica, Costa Rica, Canada, numerous European countries, and into realities beyond that which can be known by reason alone. Having taken a road less travelled during his lifetime, he is known as having planted so many seeds among his students and general audiences that forests of his teachings and practices are growing everywhere.
Paula Silverstein is a Puerto Rican New Yorker, with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Arts Education, an MSW in Clinical Social Work and a long career in Teaching and School Social Work in urban and suburban communities. She is also an artist, psychotherapist, writer, and storyteller.
