Our guest this week is Jon Carson. He is a well-known speaker throughout North America speaking on mindfulness, trauma, and leadership as a police officer within Ontario, Canada and has been serving the community for over 18 years in various capacities. It was in 2009 when he encountered a traumatic call involving a young baby that his journey took a turn and he eventually was diagnosed with PTSD. Spending a better part of the initial stages of his diagnosis self-medicating himself. It wasn’t until 2013 when he was offered an opportunity to look at things differently by using mindfulness practices to look within and prevent trauma from taking its toll. He now delivers Mindfulness Based Resiliency training to the police organization he works for but also is now venturing out to deliver this valuable training through his company Mindful Cop Consulting.
