In the dark hours of Labor Day morning, something is happening in the forests off of the desolate Ortega Highway. Kipp has been camping for the weekend and starts off his last day trying to figure out what is causing this bizarre and omnipresent sound that woke him. Allan is driving his young son and ex-wife’s teen stepdaughter back to the coast using this highway through the mountainous forests. The darkness is hiding something that, for the time being, can only be heard. Is it a distress signal? Or is it a warning? A collision of logic and fear is imminent as they rush towards each other in the dark. Something unearthly is about to step into the light.
