Awesomed By Comics Podcast

This very special episode of the Awesomed by Comics Podcast is brought to you by Mysterius the Unfathomable, which we actually spend very little time discussing, despite the fact that the book's creators, Tom Fowler and Jeff Parker (collectively: "Forker!") join us for a full two hours. Power Girl, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man, Regular Spider-Man, and the return of a certain Kitty (Hint: Not Honey Boy) all win big, as do a few Marvel Premieres from 1977, because they're AS GOOD AS THREE COMICS. And Tom can probably forget about pencilling next summer's 480-issue "Image United II featuring Deadpool." Tell us what you think on our blog, visit our show forum, and leave an iTunes review!

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by half of the War Rocket Ajax, which was kind enough to lend us one gently used Chris Sims for the episode. Chris sits in for Evie and takes issue with our dislike of Batman and Robin #10, and my love of most things Joe Kelly. Hercules: Death of an Avenger wins multiple awards, Archie comics are discussed on the show for the first time ever, and despite decades of comics reading between the two hosts, nobody can remember whether Thanos has ever had eye beams or not. This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by Sausage or Death Metal Band? Feel free to play along at home, Google probably won't help you. A wonderful last issue wraps up Kieron Gillen and Steven Sanders' tragically abandoned S.W.O.R.D., Criminal finishes another tense arc, Pet Avengers starts a delightful new one, and the Unwritten and Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man continue to rule. Also, Bruce Wayne is not the effing Riddler. Note that Evie will be away for SXSW next week, so Aaron may or may not have special surprises planned in her absence. Stay tuned. This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by tonight's actual Oscars, which as you may know, our show is a little bit like, if it were quite a bit different. Boys and a Man show what they're made of, Underground wraps up on high, and ladies step up in Girl Comics. We also detail our pitch for Marvel Horses, and swoon over the newest incarnation of animated Bruce Wayne. Tell us what you think on our blog, visit our show forum, and leave an iTunes review!

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by just the best most beautiful laptop ever, yes you are we love you so muchy much, you have no reason to ever get mad at us and not work when we're trying to record the show again, no you don't, you're just so perfect and hot, by the way have you lost weight? We LOL at X-Factor, have a sadz at the end of Ms. Marvel, and hype the skillz of Gail Simone, Matt Sturges and Joshua Dysart for Wonder Woman, The Web and Unknown Soldier, respectively. We also talk about Dwayne McDuffie's killer new Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths animated Timmverse movie, and wonder what possessed James Robinson to get so freaky in Superman. Also, Warren Ellis writes a parody of a Warren Ellis comic, and Aaron thinks it's totally awesome.(An apology, while we're all here: in the show I note that Aaron Lopresti was the penciller for Wonder Woman, but it was in fact Chris Batista and Fernando Dagnino--it's miscredited on the cover, someone at DC did a cut-and-paste.) This tardy episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by a very special message from Marvel Comics, as well as Awesomed By Comics' new slogan, whatever that might be. SWORD is sharp as ever, Secret Six explodes, and Unwritten kills like a Nazi. Barks, maos and pigeon coos of approval for Tails of the Pet Avengers #1, and an ever expected welcome for the dream team on Pixie Strikes Back. This Superbowl Sunday episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by Raisins! For some reason? Or how about the New Orleans Saints. That's probably more topical. Wolverine Weapon X is sweet, and Sweet Tooth is bitter, and both are awesome; Wonder Woman still isn't selling the Star Sapphire thing, and Aaron pans Nova, because the weekend's killer snowstorm apparently made it to hell. A new season of "Lost" premieres, and nachos. Tell us what you think on our blog, visit our show forum, and leave an iTunes review!

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by efforts to add more cricket references to our podcast, because that's good show business. Unknowns in the form of Soldiers and Devils Made Flesh win big, as do X-Factor and Guardians of the Galaxy. Weird scheduling issues get a take down, and Wonder Woman's new villains look suspciously like tiny versions of AC/DC guitarist Angus Young. This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by a significant size clarification, (it matters!) and a poor excuse for one of our hosts' bad behavior. Evie and Aaron give respect to all the amazing ladies this week (Power Girl, Anna Mercury, Black Widow, Amanda Conner, perhaps some horses?) and could Ronan/Crystal be the best relationship in comics? J'accuse! Hercules keeps going strong, and Mark Waid keeps writing great sequels. Also, we don't talk about this in the show, but the Saints just won, so now Aaron won't have to choose which of two of the most annoying people on the planet to root for in the Super Bowl.

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by another horse giving different bridge advice, so get out your notepad. Dr. Strange and various X-Men impress, as do their adorable Canadian boyfriends, and the reformed Rhino warms our hearts. Mike Carey's The Unwritten continues to kill it, and the ending of Christos Gage's Absolution sparks a lukewarm debate. We also get to the bottom of the misidentified Amazing Spider-Man cover artist controversy, which we admit was our mistake, but then they mess up the credits this week so WHO(M) DO YOU TRUST?Tell us what you think on our blog, visit our show forum, and leave an iTunes review!
