Job’s friends try to justify why Job is suffering, claiming they know what God is doing and Job is being punished for some wrong doing. But in the end, God says they have no right to claim to know what God is doing. He asks Job to pray for them, basically saying that Job has the power to be a better friend in their time of shame than they were for him.

David is known for slaying Goliath, becoming king, and for his faith in Psalms. David was also an adulterer and a murderer. He was far from perfect. But God chose him to be on the throne and for his lineage to lead to Jesus, God’s son. He became a man of faith used by God despite his flaws.
