Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, couldn’t talk until John was born because he didn’t believe the angel foretelling his son’s birth. His song prepares the way for the birth of Jesus and the prophesy of who he will be and the joy that comes with this hope, as well as how John will be the one to prepare the way for Jesus. The end of Zechariah’s song really focuses on the dawn of a new day.
