Angie Stone is a pioneering figure in neo-soul, known for her rich, soulful voice and ability to blend classic R&B with contemporary sounds. With a career spanning over four decades, she started in the 1980s as part of the rap trio The Sequence before transitioning into songwriting, vocal arranging, and a celebrated solo career. Her 1999 debut album Black Diamond introduced her distinct blend of soul, jazz, and hip-hop influences, earning her a place among the greats of modern R&B.

One of her standout tracks, Baby, was released in 2007 as part of her album The Art of Love & War. The song, produced by Co-T (Co-Tee) and Angie Stone herself, is a heartfelt duet featuring Betty Wright, embodying a timeless soul aesthetic.

Additionally, Mary J. Blige’s 2022 track Breathing, featuring Fabolous, was produced by D’Mile, known for his lush and soulful production style.

DJ Azuhl unveils a fresh remix for his 2026 collaborative track “Gimme That Gem”, featuring Teba, EJ Von Lyrik, and Ben Caesar. Paying homage to Cape Town’s DJ culture and legendary events like Classics and Laced Up, the track fuses hip-hop, reggae, and turntablism for a nostalgic yet energetic sound.

Though the original music video, shot by Kori Clark, faced editing delays, it didn’t halt the release. Fans can now watch it via DJ Azuhl’s official website. The new remix amplifies the tribute, delivering a refined sonic experience for both longtime supporters and new listeners.

Stevie Wonder’s Pastime Paradise is a socially conscious track from his critically acclaimed 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life. Produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, the song is a smooth R&B/hip-hop ballad detailing a deep romantic connection. It became a major hit, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. The track helped cement Bow Wow’s transition from a child star to a serious artist in the industry.
