In this episode of The Bookwave Podcast we talk about the next 2 rules, Work as hard as you possibly can on at least one thing and see what happens and try to make one room in your house as beautiful as possible. We talk about diamonds and pressure, the risk/reward of university, art, culture, religion and the Age of Decay. But before we get into the book, I (Scott) had some comic nerd rage to get off my chest regarding this Red Skull business and the legacy of Jack Kirby.

Hail Lobster.

In our interview with Paul VanderKlay, we asked him what he thought we should start reading next in the Book club. I don't think we all expected him to say Lord of the Rings but no objections here! Before we dive into the Trilogy, we had to start at the Beginning. J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit was written in 1937 and has lasted this long for a number of reasons. We talk about the Heroes Journey, our fascination with lore and backstory, and the real meaning of Magic. Gandalf is the Wizard but Tolkien was the Magician.
