ਬਾਪੂ -ਪੇ੍ਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ 

'Baapu' is a critically acclaimed short story written by one of the most famous punjabi writer Prem Parkash. This story lays emphasis on the fluctuations that usually happen in the positions of members of the family when 'marriages' increases the families and gives birth to new relations. Parents are supposed to share their son with a girl whom he gets married. Sometimes the adjustments are made easily and sometimes things just don't work the way they should and ultimately this thing fractures the unity of a family.   

This particular short story is about a person who finds himself in a dire situation where he is suppose to balance the dynamics between his wife and his father. The father of the boy blames his 'daughter in law' for the issues that have emerged in the family after their marriage.  Things turn upside down as the story unfolds and mirrors the bitterness which yet emerges from nowhere but still venoms this very institution of society.
