Unresolved trauma and self-righteousness…does it lead to spiritual awakening? Or spiral out into vivid hallucinations and self-destruction? On this week’s episode, The Babes pray at the altar of the 2019 horror-drama St. Maude. We confess our thoughts on the intersections of faith, isolation, repression and mental health. We had a lot to say on the risks of unchecked religious zeal and the potential for spiritual beliefs to become harmful when they separate one from reality.

We try to pump it up while discussing the toxicities of self-destruction, ageism and the pursuit of beauty. The comfort of the 90’s witchy aesthetic is one of the Wonders of the World, and we MUST protect it at all costs. We give thanks to grunge all black outfits, dark brown lipstick, knee high socks, and combat boots. Blessed Be! On this episode, The Babes cover the beloved 1996 horror drama, and cult classic - The Craft. This film calls the corners of the occult, the power of sisterhood, prejudice, and that it’s cool to be a weirdo. This was a fun one, and this movie has bewitched us with a glamor spell - consensually, of course. Light your candles, sit in a circle with your coven and invoke the spirit of The Craft.

Awww, the youth. Our future, so innocent and unassuming. But is that just the perfect ruse? What if someone revealed to you that their own child was capable of horrendous acts?

On this episode, The Babes cover their oldest film yet - The alluring black and white, horror thriller from 1956, The Bad Seed. We discuss nosey neighbors, cunning 8 year olds, and how far a mother will go to protect her child. This movie is 68 years old and still shocks us!
