What Do You Make?
Ben Journée makes fantastic wedding films, and a podcast about making better wedding films (it's literally called Make Better Wedding Films!) so he knows a few things about a few things. We talked about turning passion projects in to legit side hustles, balancing family life, and get in to some nitty gritty creative process gear.

What a cool niche, being a rare film camera broker. Bellamy has carved it out for himself in Japan, and we talk about how that works, separating photography from cameras, and a little bit about how COVID has thrown some things out of whack.
As mentioned in this episode, the first Baby Got Backend workshop is live. Details are on the website

What Do You Make?
This was such a generous conversation. We discuss working in teams, systems, longevity, engagement, making people feel welcome. And geek out about productivity software!

I had a bit of an audio buzz in a lot of this ep that I had to remove but it's not perfect - I apologise!

ANNIE! Annie and I met a few years ago working on a wedding, and became fast friends, bonding over shared values and interests. There's a bit of pandemic chat in this one, taking stock of where we're at in August. We also talk about pivoting, what "systems" even are, and taking risks when making a niche product.

Where do we not go on this episode? Sarah and I touch on the importance of systems, taking your own advice, planting long term seeds, comparison anxiety, and a bunch of other stuff.
Please reach out if you have any feedback or want to know when the workshop is happening - it'll be announced soon!

What Do You Make?
This is a good, wide reaching chat with Oli. I feel like 40-50 minutes is a good, respectable podcast episode these days, but with Oli there are so many things to talk about. I reckon there's going to be a volume of chats over the years (he's on an old episode of What Do You Make? actually).
We always go down good tangents that often dont relate to photography, which is important. We discuss the STEM Antarctica work, divisive branding, and the homogeny of the wedding space.

This was originally published in 2016.
Josh is an old friend of mine who happens to be a marriage celebrant. We often have big long ranty conversations about how to deal with our own businesses and lots of those are around how we physically, systematically communicate certain things to our couples and clients, the services we use, and why we use them. This is just the latest one, I made it official by podasting it!
