Back on the Block

We see what Jake’s up to since “moving” away from the Block; Syd has the saddest birthday ever; Amanda and Jo come to semi-blows; and Jack Wagner finally joins the show!

We review the Amazon series “Forever” and the plays “Agnes,” “I Was Most Alive With you” and “The True.” Plus, you tell us: Is “Jack Ryan” worth watching?

Did Jake survive Brittany’s big blast? (He did.) Does Michael resort to his old tricks? (He does.) Will Syd fall for them? (She will.) Will you hate Billy more now than you have before? (Obvi.)

We talk about many cultural things: “Searching,” “Ordeal By Innocence,” “Collective Rage: A Tale of 5 Betties,” and even pay tribute to Burt Reynolds. But most importantly, Karen makes brownies from Katharine Hepburn’s own brownie recipe. Hear all about it!

How much longer can Kimberly keep gaslighting Michael? When will Jake realize how much danger he is in? Will Amanda make up with Daddy? Most importantly, do we like Sydney better as “Miranda?”

Karen checks in following the pilot of "Mayans MC" and Doug reports back on Glenn Close in "The Wife." Plus he gives his list of the 5 film actresses most overdue for an Oscar.

Not only does Matt have multiple scenes in this episode, he is responsible for a TOP 5 Moment! Plus, Jane has a spine, Michael is sweet, Syd's in the snake pit, Alison's working with Billy now, and Jo has some very unwelcome visitors. And you'll hear all about Doug's bad car accident from years ago.

We discuss "Crazy Rich Asians" and pay tribute to Neil Simon. We also talk about food. A lot.

Allison's still trying to get her father to admit the truth about what he did, Syd's still in the slammer, Michael still has amnesia, and Jake is still making bad decisions. Plus we get not one but two great cliffhanger endings! Also, Amanda wears Keds.

Karen went through an ordeal worthy of its own story trying to see the new "Mission: Impossible" film -- so she tells it. We also talk about that movie and "BlackKklansman," and review the shows "Gettin' the Band Back Together," "Be More Chill," and "Pretty Woman."
