Summer Daze 'Beach House Vibes' - mixed by Mark Anthony (June 2020)

Summer isn’t Summer without a Hed Kandi ‘Beach House’ compilation....

I use to look forward to it every year as it was always thee album of the year for me and you knew that Summer had officially started when it hit the shops.

The brain child of Hed Kandi founder Mark Doyle, the first volume was released in 2000 (a stunning 20 years ago) and the music on them is just timeless, sounding just as good and current today as it did when they were released. A sublime soundtrack of blissed out summer inspired beats that I like to call ‘sophisticated laidback house music....’

Here’s my little tribute to these classic albums featuring some of my favourite tracks from the likes of Miguel Migs, Solu Music, Ananda Project, Bent, Kaskade and a few newer grooves that fit the vibe. The perfect soundtrack for a beautifully warm sunny day.

Inspired by the 'Hacienda' live stream over the weekend and the fact I haven't done one for a while I thought it was time to do another classics mix. I don't usually do them but I was feeling quite nostalgic and as we're all on lockdown and can't get out, why not...

As with the last classics mix from 5 years ago this mix features tracks that are all favorites of mine and were played at either the Hacienda, Paradise Factory or the best pre-club bar in Manchester at the time 'The Athenaeum'.
