The year of 2020 was a slap in the face kick in the behind and a wake up call for the world. But even in the middle of all the change, the struggles and stress now more than ever, we need to be grateful. We need to give thanks, grateful for what is good and was good in the past year. Join me for a look back in gratitude for the year that was 2020. I don't know about you, but all year I have been on zoom calls, meetings and virtual events, as most of you have to. And for me, it hasn't really been a big deal because in the world of online business, it's a daily occurrence and has been for years. However, a few weeks ago, I attended a really, really cool virtual event. I don't know if you've heard of this guy, but Blake Fly was the host of the event. He's a public speaker entrepreneur and has committed to holding his event for 55 years. This was year five of 55 and know that I'll link all of his contact information in the show notes.
And as you might guess, it's all about looking back before you can move forward. You see most people, especially creative entrepreneurs are anxious to get onto the new year and set new goals and start working on new things, especially this year, right? But Blake's idea is that you need to take the time to look back, look back at all of it, the good, the bad, the ugly, and then pause and especially take notice of all that you did accomplish. You must acknowledge and realize and understand all the good and the goals that were reached and take the time to really sit with it for a bit. Most don't do this. They forget quickly where they've been. They forget how many great things happened and are too focused on moving ahead and getting wrapped up in goal setting for the coming year.
So for this podcast episode, I want to share some of the exercises we did with hopes that you'll find a little time to take a look back in gratitude for this exercise. You'll need a few sheets of paper, a pen, or marker, and your phone, okay, are you ready to get started? Let's do this.
