Backstage Pass with Justin and Adam

Firstoff, we love what we do. We get to speak to interesting people about the things that they do. Sometimes we get some people that are just unbearable and not suitable for hearing consumption. Jay did not fall in the latter category. He was kind, and generous with his stories and knowledge. It was truly a good time.

This was borrowed from the Proptologist web site:

"Jay boasts over 35 years’ experience in LORT & Off-Broadways theatre, independent films, TV, music videos and over 65 off Broadway shows credit his name as a Props Master and Props Designer. The roll call of shows for which he has created original work, starts in Classic Greek Theater, re-imagined Shakespeare plays as well as being part of the artistic team that created musicals including Hamilton, Fun Home, Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson and the highly controversial Julius Caesar at Shakespeare in the Park 2017, at his decade residency at The Public Theater. As well as being a writer for Stage Directions Magazine, he teaches Properties and the Philosophy of Aesthetics at Pace University. He has been the Keynote Speaker for The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and the United States Institute of Theater Technology, curating USITT's very first Prop Lab in 2018."

Give a listen because it is FACINATING.

Adam and I sat down to chat with the amazing Bill Chott. Bill discusses his road trip with Horatio Sanz, and how he got his start. Bill is very down to earth and very interesting to listen to. You may know his voice from SNL, or as Mr.Laritate from Wizards. Bill was very easy to talk to, and we shared a lot of laughs.

Bill you're one in a million!

Thank you Bill!

Adam and I get a chance to talk to Scott, the owner and head candy maker of Ms.Merita's Hard Candy Slides. Scott was genuinely one of the best conversations Adam and I have had together. Just a down to earth hard working guy from Louisiana. Scott will now be the official sponsor of Fly On The Wall Podcasts! We are so excited to grow with him.

Scott you're fantastic both for your candy and personality. Thank you for being so genuine.

Thank you!

I took this bit of information from Scott's website www.hardcandyslides.com

Over 20 years ago, my mother, (Merita Boullion), taught me the secret of making delicious hard candy. At first, it was just a cinnamon Christmas treat, but once I got the hang of it, I was making a variety of flavors year-round to meet the demands of my friends and family. In early 2019, after two decades of crafting these goodies, I opened Ms. Merita's Hard Candy Slides to honor her and the candy-making tradition she inspired. With a taste for every palate, I hope that Ms. Merita's Hard Candy Slides will bring you, your loved ones, and everyone the same joy it has brought me and my family!

I was honored to talk to Boone this morning over coffee. We got in contact with each other on Instagram. I was informed that he had his debut album coming out, which is now released. We chatted about the nerves associated with live performances and both of our craft. He's very interesting and skilled. And to be honest I can add another album to the list of albums that I can put on and listen in it's entirety.

This bio I'm posting is right from his website https://www.boonestthomas.com/about

"Boone St. Thomas has always been about the music. Working for over 10 years as a producer, composer, writer and band musician sharing bills with acts from Richard Swift to Duran Duran, he has added artistry to stories and sounds of all kinds. But with tides changing around the world, he has found he has something to say.

“I’ve always loved the inspiration that comes from composing for a film, or writing and recording with another singer. But these times have challenged all of us, and I was compelled to write something personal and honest about getting through those challenges.”

When The Sun Came Up is an album about hope through hard times. It’s about change; wanted or unwanted. It’s about empathy and hearing each other. It’s about people coming together and standing for what is right.

“I got inspiration from listening to others and hearing what they were dealing with this year. I often went out surfing or hiking in the quiet dawn hours to reflect. Those moments helped me process things and became a catalyst for the songs. The sun always comes up. It’s the record that I needed to hear right now. Someone else might need to hear it, too.”

When The Sun Came Up is Boone’s debut release as a solo artist."

My personal favorite track from his new album "When The Sun Came Up" is True Blue.

Thank you for being a great guest and giving me the opportunity to work on my own set of skills. Thank you.

I met Colton about 12 years ago and we've stayed in contact ever since then. He was making a movie called Monstrosity, and he was kind enough to let a new photographer on set to take photos. I made so many friends during this experience.

Colton has gone on to act for Disney in Cloud 9, and directed for Disney. He was also in GLOW and directed several of his own movies. More recently he directed a video for Lance Bass and his husband to announce the arrival of their babies in October!!

It's always good to catch up with friends and wish nothing but success for him in his future.

Thanks Colton!

On this episode we have a co-host!! Actor, magician and good friend Adam Wylie!  We catch up with Justin Shenkarow, an Emmy and Golden Globe award winner for his role as Matthew on the hit CBS tv show, "Picket Fences".  Adam and Justin have known each other for over 30 years now and have worked together on numerous projects and shows.  Most recently, they worked together on the new animated Netflix movie "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" which is out now.  Justin is also known for being the voice of "Harold" in the cartoon series "Hey Arnold".  You may also recognize his name in the credits for several video games such as L.A. Noire, Ace Combat, Skate and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.

Justin and Adam share stories on working with Jim Carrey.  Oh, by the way, Jim, you still owe Justin $25, so you're gonna have to "pony up"! Justin also fills us in how he's still waiting to collect on his $20 from Kate Hudson.  This episode is filled with lots of good stories and laughs.  You don't want to miss out.

Today I got to speak candidly with my friend Adam Wylie, who is an actor and magician and Halo Master. We chat about how we met on TikTok and about his over 30 year career in the industry. Adam is still recognized from Kindergarten Cop, and as Peter Pan from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Adam has an extensive resume that includes roles as Zachary Brock on Picket Fences, Gilbert in Underwraps, the voice of Panicky Smurf in The Smurfs 2 and The Smurfs. Newer performances include voice acting in the newly released “The Mitchells vs the Machines” currently on Netflix. Also as the “Short Magician” in the new season of Lucifer.

There is so much talent from one person. So honest, and entertaining.

Also this is the first episode to have my son Jacob Claypool co-hosting! Well done son!

Thank you Adam and Jacob for making this episode special!

I finally get to chat with the Professor. I've listened to his music for years now and was always curious how he got his start. We have some real talk about how COVID has impacted us. The story is quite down to earth.

I borrowed this from Professorelemental.com because it sums up the Professor quite well.

"Welcome to the world of Professor Elemental. An award winning hip hop artist and accomplished host,

With a career spanning a decade, Professor Elemental first got noticed with ‘Cup Of Brown Joy’ which

On stage the Professor is a wild combination of music and comedy, incorporating improvisation and new

Thank you Professor

I met the Strumbellas in 2016, it was Nothing But Thieves, The Offspring, and AWOL Nation while shooting meet and greets for X96 BASH. I do remember it raining that day and it was still a great time.

Recently Darryl started a new project called Close Kicks, and with two amazing songs released I highly recommend listening to "The House We Built" and "You Made It Home."

So down to earth and so happy to share experiences.

Thank you Darryl
