Muhammad Shaheer Niazi did a series of experiments on the Rose Window instability and showed how it can cause the electric honeycomb. Shaheer physically performed the experiments in which he placed a layer of oil between a pointy electrode and a flat electrode. Due to the resulting electric field of the two electrodes, the ions in the layer of oil arrange themselves in a beautiful honeycomb pattern. He was able to photograph the movement of ions which ultimately formed the honeycomb-like design. No one in the scientific world has ever been able to accomplish this feat before. Shaheer compiled his findings in the form of a research paper titled, “The Electric Honeycomb”. Shaheer’s research paper got published at the Royal Society Open Science. After the publication of the research paper, Shaheer’s work started gaining the attention of much older and renowned physicists from around the globe. Shaheer’s work as a teenage physicist got famous so much so that he was even approached by BBC and the famous NYTimes for an interview.
