This week on JJBR, we cover episodes 7 & 8, where main characters die, anvils are thrown, and Jonathon's conflict with Dio finally comes to an end. Other topics of discussion include: knife-vampire Gabe Newell, really specific prophecies, surviving long after your body is gone, Mad Max fashion statements, eating babies, Business Guile, Dio invents moe, brainstorming a horrifying fetish monstrosity, and a vampire named Jones.

On this episode of JJBR, we admire Speedwagon's manly passion that can warm even the coldest of limbs, question Araki's grasp of European history, try to puzzle out the show's internal geography, congratulate Araki on his clever wordplay, and question Zeppeli's ability to think of alternate solutions to problems.

On this episode of JJBR, we talk about how Erina won the hunk lottery, strange Italian men who sprinkle salt and/or pepper on their sandwiches, frogs with Ripple power, new and surprising uses for horses, and deadly crocodile clips.

Welcome to the first episode of JoJo's Bizarre Rewatch, hosted by myself and Megan! The JJBA newbies joining us on this adventure are Luke (who Bakacast listeners should already be familiar with), Jules (who I've already podcasted with on some episodes of Teenagers With Attitude), and Kevin (who is a player in my new Dungeon World campaign on Roll For Your Lives). While going over the first two episodes of the Phantom Blood arc, we cover such topics as: thematic color schemes, terrible parenting techniques, animal abuse, sick poses, the fanciest way to fall down, Charles Dickens' secret fetish, and skin sheathes. Also, Megan makes a joke so good that we're tempted to immediately stop the recording to end on the highest note possible.

On this episode of Bakacast, we finish off the spring stragglers and marvel at the idea that Flying Witch was not only the best show of the season but also basically perfect. We also do a quick roundup of the shows we haven't been reviewing weekly, such as Luluco, Macross Delta and Kuromukuro.

On this episode of Bakacast, we bid farewell to Bakuon. You were an okay show. Gundam Unicorn and Flying Witch didn't air the week we recorded, so JoJo's, Hero Academy, and (unfortunately) Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress are the only shows we reviewed. Thankfully, we had the Girls Und Panzer movie around to fill the gap, and boy did it do a good job of that.

Bakuon continues to exist as a show that we neither hate nor love, Hero Academy continues to be totally rad, Flying Witch continues to be the best show this season, and Gundam Unicorn continues to be filled with angst.

On this episode of Bakacast, I debut our new opening song composed by Mitchell Dill. It's not the final version, but I figured it'd be fun to switch things up post-episode-300. Also, I reveal my plans for what the next season will bring. Basically, I'll be taking a brief hiatus from the normal Bakacast schedule (since I've been watching, recording and editing for 6 years straight now). Instead of doing weekly reviews, I'll instead be going through the first two arcs of JoJo's with three people who've never watched the show before (plus Megan). These episodes will go up in place of the weekly episodes we'd normally put up for the summer season, and we'll return to the normal Bakacast stuff when the fall season starts.
Now, this doesn't mean you won't get ANY summer reviews from us. Whether it takes the form of posts on this blog or short, additional recordings with Ben and Larry every three weeks or so, we'll still be giving our thoughts on whatever summer shows we decided to watch.

We finally made it to 300 episodes. I dread the day when we get to 500, mostly because I'm not sure what Aaron will do to try and top us watching Ice. I fear for my life. We do our normal review segments on this episode, too, of course; but let's be honest, you're all here for the anime that somehow made Luke more angry than anything I've made him watch so far.

It took a while, but I promised you that Luke would review SUPER LOVERS; and by golly did I get him to review SUPER LOVERS. He definitely didn't like it, but probably not for the reasons you might immediately suspect. After that, we take an Ice-inspired journey into Hulu's anime selection, have more arguments about Bakugo from My Hero Academy, continue to be delighted by Flying Witch, and reminisce about how much fun Lelouch was in Code Geass.
