Michael Johnson's jersey hangs in rafters of the Ballard High School gym for a reason. The 1997 grad once held the state's career scoring record for big schools, was Gatorade Player of the Year in Washington in 1996 and averaged more than 20 points per game all four years of high school — 27.1 points, 10.3 boards and 5.3 assists per game as a senior. Johnson, who now lives in Pennsylvania, joined to replay those glory days. He talked about the crop of talent in the Seattle area in the late 90s, adjusting as he ascended levels, playing for Bob Bender at Washington and more.
