Ballot Battleground

Join Anthony Stefanos on this episode of Ballot Battleground as he examines the practice of gerrymandering. We will explore the various ways the practice has been implemented over time. Political boundaries are altered, people are left astray, all in the hopes of furthering the goals of one political party and their ideology, leaving a scar on our democracy.

Anthony will do an in depth analysis of New York’s newly passed congressional maps and how they are gerrymandered in favor of the Democrats. How did it happen after years of fairly drawn maps in the state? Who is safe and who is the sacrificial lamb?

Tyler Clarke, a PhD candidate at Binghamton University and seasoned campaign organizer will come on and discuss the political dynamics in North Carolina, a state where the maps drawn up get challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court every ten years since the 1990’s.
