Former IRA member Danny Flynn is just out of prison and all he wants to do is box, but that proves a little difficult in late '90s Belfast.
The Boxer looks at the tension in Northern Ireland during The Troubles, and how violence impacts every aspect of life. Flynn wants to focus on being a good influence on the community, but he can never truly escape his past... until he more or less escapes.
