How do you create a sense of closeness and intimacy with your loved ones from afar? Even with technology like video calls and friendship lamps, there hasn't been a tool that enhances the love language of physical touch, or presence, the way that Tangible does. Our guest is Akshay, the founder of Tangible, a magical neck pillow that creates physical presence over distance.
Join us for this conversation as we dive deep into Akshay's story about how the harrowing experience of losing his mom during the pandemic instigated this question, and what it took for him to go from tinkering on a few prototypes to fleshing out his vision into a company.
About Akshay:
Akshay Dinakar is a consumer product designer from Stanford University, currently passionate about taking “the distance” out of long-distance relationships. The creator of over a dozen different inventions, Akshay’s career vision is to help take a leap forward for humankind.
When he’s not in design studio mode, you’ll likely find him sketching architectural blueprints, recording classical/pop violin, writing short story mysteries, hanging rim on the basketball court, or cooking really spicy Asian food.
