Depression can be emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausting. The key hallmark symptoms of low mood are a depressed mood and a loss of interest or lack of pleasure in our lives. For individuals experiencing depression, these symptoms can last for two weeks or more, and it can understandably feel like there's no hope in sight to feel better. But often, that's the one thing we want. when we battle depression: a way to lift our mood. In Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), there are several strategies that we can use to help break the vicious cycle of depression. In this podcast, I introduce 3 key CBT based self-help strategies including: 1) Behavioural Activation, 2) Thought Challenging (aka Cognitive Restructuring), 3) and Rumination Time (a modification of Worry Time).
