"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard." JFK delivered that as part of his 1962 speech at Rice University where he declared the U.S. plan to put a man on the moon. Many thought he was crazy, most said it couldn't be done. But it happened. Bill and Sean talk about how we got there. It was indeed, not easy. We celebrate the accomplishment, but we also discuss some of the controversy. Including using Nazi engineer Wernher von Braun to oversee and largely invent the technology that made it possible to launch a human to the moon and return him safely. We also give credit to LBJ for continuing Kennedy's vision and ensuring we accomplished this goal before the decade of the 60s came to an end. Enjoy!
