Banjo Hangout Top 100 Clawhammer and Old-Time Songs

I've played this one for a few years now and it has evolved into this. Good ol tune, fune to play and I like it where it is.

Original tune played in octave double-D on Gold Tone Bob Carlin BC-350 strung with metal-wound nylon strings.

This arrangement is in old G tuning, played down a step (fCFCD) from the playing of Edden Hammonds and Alan Jabbour. I'm working on tunes I can transpose to this tuning as a *homework assignment* from Adam Hurt.

Learned for the old-time Tune of the Week, the story behind this tune is that it's one Melvin Wine learned by hearing his mother sing this hymn. Now the lyrics are most gone, but the melody is still shared. Check out the current Tune of the Week: http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/297062
