The style of Gaudi´s designs is known as Modernism and it is characterized by the use of ceramics, wrought iron, pottery, wood and stain glass windows....

Gaudí was a fasionable architech. He received commisions from rich people, in Barcelona Gaudi design 9 houses in aditon the other works as: lampost, furniture, he desigh a coffe shop and other works.

His most important project was: La Sagrada Familia.

This is a church and it is where he invested all his money and his efforts, still today is under construction.

Gaudí was born in 1852 and died, run over by a tram in 1926.

he was hit by a tram way around 5 pm on June 10th , it was 1926 when he was going to hear mass at his favorite church: The Church of San Felipe Neri.

He was a strong catholic person He never married, he haven´t children. He dedicated his life to God and architecture.

Today we will do a Gaudi tour to discover 4 of his most important works: La Sagrada Familia, La Casa Milà, La Casa Batlló and Parque Güell.

These 4 works are classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Today I suggest to you a chocolate tour.

Barcelona has a great chocolate tradition because Spain had colonies in America and cacao beans arrived to the city.

We start at Plaça Catalunya.

Walking down Las Ramblas we arrive to Carme Street where our first stop is : Chock.

We follow to Puertaferrisa street and there a street called Petritxol Street. We pass by Pares Art gallery and our second stop is in La Granja Dulcinea.

You can taste hot chocolate, churros, ensaimada y melindros. All is delicious.

We finish at"La Plaça del Pi".

In this chapter We´ll do a food tour with your little ones.

I know that it is an option that sometimes we see complicated with children.

In today's program I will recommend you two restaurants and a small tour so that both you and your little ones have a fun time.

The tour starts at Argenteria street and we stop at the Sagardi Born restaurant at number 62.

Then we´ll go through the main door of the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar to Paseo del Born.

We take "Carrer Montcada", carrer is street in catalan, the local language.But before entering, we find "El carrer de les mosques" on the right the narrowest street in Barcelona and on the left to "Carrer dels Sobrerers" with the Gispert store.

On Calle Montcada we stopped at La Bodega La Puntual at number 22. Ideal tapas for children are: croquetas, patatas bravas and octupus with parmatier souce.

Today I will talk about one house by Gaudi that is little bit unknown and this is Casa Vicens.

Mr Vicens was rich exchange stock broker that commissioned the house to Gaudi.

The construction started in 1882 and it takes 2 years.

It was the first house that Gaudí made as an architect.. He wanted to strive , to do his best.

Gaudí used a style that was fashionable in Europe in XIX century,, and the name of this style was exoticism.

It was an exotic style, with a romantic inspiration.

A style inspired in the decorations that we can find in the palaces of Japan, in India or in China.

At that time in Europe rich people loved that kind of decoration. Actually in Barcelona there are many houses in that style. All these houses were built in the XIX century.
