Today I suggest you a walking tour of about 40 minutes through one of the most luxurious streets of Barcelona: Paseo de Gracia.

We will start in the garden of a 19th century palace, we will pass by two Gaudí houses: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, we will stop to taste a delicious hot chocolate and we will finish in the Plaza de Cataluña.

Casa Batlló is a work of the brilliant architect Antonio Gaudí, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Today I will talk about one house by Gaudi that is little bit unknown and this is Casa Vicens.

Mr Vicens was rich exchange stock broker that commissioned the house to Gaudi.

The construction started in 1882 and it takes 2 years.

It was the first house that Gaudí made as an architect.. He wanted to strive , to do his best.

Gaudí used a style that was fashionable in Europe in XIX century,, and the name of this style was exoticism.

It was an exotic style, with a romantic inspiration.

A style inspired in the decorations that we can find in the palaces of Japan, in India or in China.

At that time in Europe rich people loved that kind of decoration. Actually in Barcelona there are many houses in that style. All these houses were built in the XIX century.

Today I am going to talk about the stained glass windows in La Sagrada Familia, one of the most beautiful elements of this amazing church.

I love all these stained glass windows that are made up of pieces of glass in many different colors and that transform natural light into a symphony of intense and harmonious colors.

All These lively colors are reflected in a white marble floor, a white so pure that sometimes it seems to me like a mirror.
