  • The importance of being vulnerable & a little weird. Ep. 10

Did you know that telling someone they’re pretty can make them smile??? That seems obvious, duhhh Babe.

In today’s episode we talk about how “flirting” with women can build them up, what you think about yourself is probably a lie, and how sharing the positive thoughts we have about others can change yours and that persons outlook for the better, even if you look a little weird.

Make someone smile, change the world…anyone?

  • We need outside validation…Wait! Hear me out! Ep 9

Admit that you care what others think. It’s not uncool. Once you admit it you can then prioritize and distinguish whose opinions actually matter to you. Positive outside validation often so makes or breaks when trying something new that it needs to be recognized as a craving lest you feel discouraged.

    In this episode we discuss:

    • a key rule of being a good leader, coach, teacher, etc. is making someone feel seen and heard
    • how to bridge the gap between your current skills and your ambitions
    • how it’s not uncool to admit you care and value what others think of you
    • being kind to yourself when learning something new

  • Being a contributor vs. the guru. It’s okay not to be THE person. Ep 8

There’s a clear difference in mindset between striving to be THE guru in your field, vs. a contributor. When I read this in a book recently, I felt a weight lift. I didn’t realize how much pressure I had been putting on myself, and silently judging others who didn’t want to be THE person.

    In this episode we discuss:

    • the difference in mindset between striving to be the guru vs. a contributor
    • what is the Smurfette Principle and what’s that got to do with you?
    • building your own seat at the table and giving a chain saw to the woman next to you so she can build hers

  • 30 Minutes is all you need to succeed? Ep7

Could setting a 30 minute timer first thing in the morning make you 30x more productive? I don’t know…I didn’t create an actual formula for this lol BUT I know it makes me FEEL 30x more productive. This episode builds upon the previous episode “Is your morning routine killing your productivity? Mine was…EP 6” and offers a new challenge for your upcoming week if you’re up for it :) Also discussed: scheduling tasks into your calendar, the importance of reflecting on previous weeks to improve this week, and how to decide what the “most” important thing is you’d like to work on each day

  • Is your morning routine killing your productivity? Mine was…EP 6

Do you have a morning routine? (Hint: you do) How long does it take? Do you feel better or worse after you’re done? Do your habits and personality align with the routine, or are you trying to make “fetch” happen?

In this episode, we talk about creating an intentional morning routine that works FOR you instead of trying to force what works for others. Amanda uses herself as “Exhibit A” of a morning routine failure and the lessons learned.

    Also discussed:

    • Taking an honest review of your routines to check if they’re accomplishing what they’re supposed to
    • Not feeling sh*t when someone else’s routine doesn’t work for you.
    • And vice versa, not making somebody else **feel poorly because your routine doesn’t work for them

  • You don’t owe anybody anything. If you don’t want to do something, don’t. EP 5

Do you ever want to escape a situation, person, place, or thing but feel like “I encouraged this…I guess I need to deal with it?” Knock it off. Quit guilt-tripping yourself.

In this episode, we talk about our sense of obligation to others and how it holds us back. Also discussed: how you don’t need to do anything you don’t want to, how you’re allowed to change your mind after you gather more data, and how you’re not responsible for or obligated to other people's feelings.

  • EPISODE 4: Your shine doesn’t dim mine. Other women are NOT your competition.

Feeling inferior is NOT a reason to put other women down. How do I know? I do it. I feel bad about it and I want to stop it. And I want to help you stop it too. Today we’re talking about the constant woman vs. woman comparisons, how stupid and unhealthy that is, how to quickly kill these thoughts and feelings, and to connect with other women in a more authentic way. Plus a bonus challenge :)

  • EPISODE 3: You’re not original and that’s okay, it’s hip to be square

Did you know you steal all the time? It’s usually a subconscious act and it’s why we think unlike anyone else on this planet and we couldn’t possibly be influenced by anything or anyone. But this is a lie. We steal from others all the time. We steal their ideas, their clothes, their thoughts, their feelings, their way of speaking, everything. We discuss how we can make this stealing a conscious act that we use to our advantage, how not even Thomas Edison or Beyonce are original, and how it’s not the stealing that’s the problem, but the fact that we often don’t give credit where credit is due.

  • EPISODE 2: Thing 1 vs Thing 2: Making tough choices…not as cute and fun as Dr. Seuss made it seem

Have you ever been torn between 2 ideas, people, things, places, cats, whatever? Of course, you have, you're a human being and want multiple things at once ALL. THE. TIME. In this episode of Bare Minimum Babe™, we talk about the hard job of being honest with yourself to figure out how important something ACTUALLY is to you vs. how important you think it SHOULD be important to you are very different things and how this honest look is crucial in decision making. We also discuss what the sunk-cost bias is and why that sh*t will sink your battleship, and ask the question..."if an idea came to you...is it always meant to be born? And if so, does it have to be born through you?" Subscribe to the show to be updated on the latest episodes!
