Fun and Games
We are finishing up the Fs (another letter down!) and we are having a great time discussing Ed’s most political son so far “Fun and Games”. We have a guest, Becca, join us at the end, so we get a gender balanced review this week

Episode 87: Fox on the Run
No, we are not taking on the major networks. We aren’t cable. We are a podcast. Where we discuss Barenaked Ladies songs alphabetically. Wait. BNL covered “Fox On The Run” and then they were on the Fox network…. coincidence???

“The Country Gentlemen”
The Zac Brown Band (sounds similar to BNL but slower… more country)
It was introduced to bluegrass by Bill Emerson[3] and Cliff Emerson and quickly became a bluegrass favorite.[4]
It was covered by American country music singer-songwriter Tom T. Hall. His version was released as a single in 1976 and peaked at #9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and #12 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart.
Tony Hazzard and Richard Barnes released a version of the song as a single in 1976 in the UK, but it did not chart

We were having major audio problems this week, so luckily we got this episode done in time. I would say with Four Seconds to spare. We are without Aaron and Michelle (except via satellite), but luckily we have Jeff Whitmire, straight off his album release, which you can buy on Bandcamp or iTunes (https://jeffwhitmire.bandcamp.com/album/deep-fried-superhero). I highly recommend you go out and buy this extremely inventive album.

Four Seconds
It goes to show it’s not what you know,
but who you know
So’s ya know, I can go, flow Bill Monroe
Then throw to Snow
For the show stay low, just play it on a Dobro
Oh, I tiptoe to and fro
From Ontario, my stereo’s Blue like the Rodeo
Growin’ like freak-show free-throw this is just the intro,
Watch it keep droppin’ like dominos
One Mississippi, Two Mississippi, Three Mississippi, Four
Now rewind,
What’d you have in mind?
Could we unwind? I’m fine, we can find a streamline
Recombined, intertwined
If I’m gonna headline,
I’m inclined to be movin’ all the behinds
Line to line, I kind of shine
Redesigned, redefined
Keepin’ up the spellbind, gotta make it worth the grind
Just in time to have another close encounter
Of the third kind
One Mississippi, Two Mississippi, Three Mississippi, Four
I’ve been away, four years and a day
You’d be thinking I’d be lonely
But I’m out here to stay
Wouldn’t have it any other way
Oh flip, the light is turning orange
Coat ripped when I caught it in the door hinge
I slipped when the lade in the 4 inch
Bought it in a store in Germany
Wore it like a makeshift snowdrift
Had to get a gift, saw the red shift rift
When Gretta got an eyelift
Oh sure that one’s obscure, maybe even piss poor
But I had to take a little detour
I’ve been away, four years and a day
You’d be thinking I’d be lonely
But I’m out here to stay
Wouldn’t have it any other way

Episode 85: For You
We love doing this podcast. But sometimes we have to hold back a little bit. You don’t know everything about us. And those secrets are what keep our relationship healthy? Right? I mean, we are being this way FOR YOU. It’s in your best interest. Okay. Can you just forget I said this since you can’t forgive all the parts of this argument that I cannot concede? Could we maybe just get to talking about “For You”? I bet you will really like our guest, Blake Reilly!

We won’t keep you waiting out in the cold for this week’s episode. Aaron and Tracy discuss “Footprints” (not the poem). I know it isn’t Christmas, but we’ll leave it to that other podcast to keep things to the right season. We do things the right way: Alphabetically! So we open our door to you so you can join us by the fire for this discussion.

I love me a potluck. Bring all the good stuff. But do they call it a food party in Canada? Let’s talk about this and more, like who is Antoine Corbijin? And since this is a short song, let’s talk about a lot of things food related as well.

“…and as I looked out on the landscape as I attempted to begin my writing for the week, all I could see was the fog rolling across the bay.” I think that was what they were referring to, right? Because this week, we are talking about the Fog of Writing. Or maybe they meant the book “Defending a Superhero” by Matt Murdoch’s friend, Mr. Nelson, Esq. What? No? That is the writing of Foggy. hmmm… well, listen in to see if we figure it out what the “Fog of Writing” is really about.

Episode 81: Flying Dreams
Welcome. I am feeling really good this week. I woke up last night and had a beautiful dream that left me feeling free. I’m free of Aaron and Michelle this week (just kidding, but Michelle does send in her thoughts). I do get to talk to the educational and informational Ben Kaplan about a great Kevin song. But it isn’t what you think it is about. Listen in to find out the real meaning.
