Episode 25: Be My Yoko Ono
Welcome back to Barenaked ABCs. And a big welcome back to always friend, and automatic member of the podcast, Bobby. This week, we cover one of the most influential songs the band has ever created. And, just as you never knew what Yoko was going to do next, we are very spontaneous in this episode. But man, did we have fun.

I want to apologize in advance. We were having audio problems this week, so I had to bump up the audio and compress it. In the process, there are people talking in the background that became amplified, so you can hear them a little. I was not able to fully diminish the effect, especially since it is 1+ hours this week.
This show is my Yoko Ono. It means a lot to me. So we always want to hear constructive criticism on how to improve the show. We love to know when people are listening to the show, like Tyler Harper. So please send us electronic postcards by visiting us on Facebook or Twitter at Barenaked ABCs, visiting us at Bowling Stormtrooper Entertainment.com, or writing us the barenaked truth of the matter at [email protected].
Episode 24: Bank Job
Tonight we mug for the camera on a podcast while we discuss a bank job gone wrong. What would stop each of us if we committed a bank job? And like the bank robbers in the song, there is dissention in the ranks as we rank this song.

Tonight’s song is not a song, but a Ballad. No, it’s not the Ballad of Plain D by Gordon Lightfoot. It’s not the Ballad of John and Yoko (but stick around for Beatles galore in two weeks). Nor is it the Ballad of Gordon and Lily. We are discussing Ballad of Gordon, which is actually a Public Service Announcement for FOX. We discuss what would we feed an alien and what Public Service Announcement we would commission BNL to do.

Episode 22: Bag of Bones
ARGH!!!! We are being chase by BIG DOGS. BARKING DOGS! BITING DOGS! No time for an episode this week, so here is sound clips of us just running from dogs for an hour. I hope you enjoy our howls of pain. Seriously, we recorded an episode about “Bag of Bones” last week, so that will be more enjoyable…. maybe.

As you may have seen, we have spammers. This has just been a bad day. And coincidentally, that is today’s song. This week, we review “Bad Day” off “Snacktime”. I know some of us (ahem, not Tracy) have been harsh on this album so far, but maybe this won’t be a bad day for Snacktime. Tune in to see.
Appearances:
Juno Awards (again) in 2008. This time though, they received a Juno for Best Children’s Album for “Snacktime”. During the press junket, an interviewer asks them to create an improv rap on the spot. So Ed starts freestyling at about 1:25.

Welcome “back” to the Barenaked ABCs, where tonight’s song is “Back”, a B-side on the “Brian Wilson 2000” CD. We discuss this rare “B-side” and if it should have been more.

So please send us electronic postcards by visiting us on Facebook or Twitter at Barenaked ABCs, visiting us at Bowling Stormtrooper Entertainment.com, or writing us the barenaked truth of the matter at [email protected]. Also, if you are from Canada, especially the Scarborough area, we would love to have you on to discuss your experience with being in that town, espeically if you went to the same school as the boys.
Tonight is a big night. We move into the Bs!!!! Now that we are out of the A’s, we feel that we are out of the baby phase, maybe into the toddler phase. It is time for us to get out of the baby seat. And tonight we discuss Baby Seat. Aaron starts referencing music all over the place. This song is drum heavy and so is this episode at times. We name drop so many names, basically everyone who has ever lived is now invited on the show.15
The song that Aaron was talking about is “4 Chords” by Axis of Awesome. Coincidentally, “Auld Lang Syne” is also with those 4 chords.

Episode 18: Auld Lang Syne
It’s the end of the year as we know it. It’s the end of the year as we know it. It’s the end of the world as we know it. And it is MAY! Ok, so our calendar is a little off. But I wasn’t about to wait another 8 months to start the podcast just to line up this song. So instead, we are talking about New Years in May (better than Christmas in July). Being the first episode of the New Barenaked Year…. Hey! I like that. Let’s start that petition…. We discuss all the other firsts with this song. Listen in as we talk about Barenaked Ladies’ rendition of this holiday classic and then rewind to 2002 to discuss the Juno appearances.

Bite not your frenulum at me, good sir. We are discussing a whole album this week, as we take on “As You Like It”. It is a tome of an episode, with five Acts. There is adventure, love, betrayal, and the horns, the horns, the lusty horns. So, come hither, come hither, come hither.

For those of you that struggle with Shakespeare, Sparknotes.com does a wonderful thing where they not only analyze each scene but also provide a modern English version of each line next to the actual line. And it is pretty accurate by my meager reading.
Tonight we try another spin at another Another song. It is Another Spin, another song off the 2007 album Barenaked Ladies are Men (BLAME)
