If a conservationist tells you to go shopping for lion dung, ask some questions first. This story is absolutely true although names have been changed. After telling this story on daytime talk radio in South Africa back in the 1990's, it quickly became an urban legend. The facts of the story became the basis for an episode of the American television series Mythbusters in the early 2000's.
In apartheid South Africa, giving a friend a ride home after dark could prove dangerous. This episode of Barking At Dogs is dedicated to the late, great Alistair Weakly, lawyer extraordinaire. The song Happy African Village written and recorded by John Bartmann.
There's a paranormal disturbance on the second floor of the hotel in Matjiesfontein, but it's not half as bad as the argument that ensues.
