MLB and the MLBPA reached a deal that would give a total of $170 million in advance pay to players on 40-man rosters, injured lists, and players with major league contracts on outright assignments to the minor leagues. The payments vary based on contract and last through May 24, but projected over a full season, the payments would work out to salaries of $888,150, $186,000, $93,000 and $51,150. MLB has pledged $400 per week for all minor league players through the end of May. Shin-Soo Choo has pledged $1,000 to every minor leaguer in the Rangers' system.
