Major League Baseball has proposed a radical plan to restructure the Minor Leagues. The plan is to eliminate over 25% of minor league teams and shorten the draft to 20-25 rounds. In theory, this would consolidate talent, improve player pay, and improve minor league facilities/conditions. In reality, most minor league players are sold a dream of playing professional baseball, despite knowing they will likely never make it to the MLB. The Yankees have forced a Game 6 in the ALCS. Behind home runs from DJ Lemahieu and Aaron Hicks, the Bronx Bombers ambushed Justin Verlander en route to a 4-1 victory. James Paxton tossed 6 innings of 1-run ball with 9 strikeouts to lead the way on the mound. Both teams will start Game 6 with their bullpens tonight in Houston. Bryce Harper says he feels no jealousy towards the Nationals, as they made it to the World Series the year after he left. There are probably 330 million reasons why he feels that way. Good things happen when George Springer and Carlos Correa go deep for the Astros. Both players hit 110-mph three-run blasts into the left field bleachers to lead the Astros to a 8-3 victory at Yankee Stadium. Houston has a 3-1 series lead, but this series isn't over yet. The Yankees will try to force a Game 6 tonight. CC Sabathia limped off the mound in what was likely the last appearance of his career. This means that, to win the series, the Yankees will likely have to face Greinke, Verlander, and Cole over the next three days. They'd have to win at least two of those games. Jacob Heyward (Jason's brother) was ejected from an Arizona Fall League game for a strike call made by the robot umpire.
