Ray and I took a quick trip up to Madison, WI to hear Jo Jorgensen, the 2020 Libertarian Party Presidential candidate. We did get a little mixed up on the time of the event, but the trip did inspire us to record this episode on this topic of faith in politics on the ride home. In light of this election, you might be interested to hear our thoughts on the topic. At the end of the program you'll hear an exclusive - Dr. Jorgensen answers one of my questions! You won't want to miss that!

This week we are featuring another just-released book, Man Up, Kneel Down: Shepherding Your Wife Toward Greater Joy In Jesus. Our guest is the author, Pastor Aaron White. Pastor White is a frequent guest on our podcast and we are excited to have him back once again. The book "is a street-level, biblically saturated, gospel-centered guide for guys who want to lead their families well by serving their wives. With accessible chapters, humor, application questions, and more, Man Up Kneel Down offers the Christian husband a guide to shepherd his wife with intentionality amidst the demands of life."

This week we take a little departure from our normal type of program. I recently had the opportunity to interview Don Reid of the Statler Brothers music group. I must admit, I went all-out fanboy on this one. I've been listening to the Statlers ever since I can remember. We're specifically talking about Don's new book - The Music of The Statler Brothers: An Anthology. Yet, we also talk about their faith and even get into the connection between Southern Gospel music and Country Western. And, we do chat a little bit about total depravity... You WONT want to miss this podcast!

This week's episode is ripped straight from the latest headlines. The question about whether or not to require face masks is dividing many churches. One side says that if you are not wearing one you are not loving your neighbor and putting the most vulnerable at risk. The other side contends that wearing a mask is evidence that you are living in fear and not trusting in Christ. Who is right? Or, is there another option? Listen in as Ray Jewell and I tackle this controversial topic.

Who doesn't want to see revival? I think all Christians long to see the day when the Spirit of God moves greatly through our country once again. But, is that really what revival is? While we often pray for revival, are praying for the right thing? Listen in this week as Evangelist Scott Pauley talks about his new book, Revival Praying.

The Basic Bible Podcast seeks to take high-level theology and place it down on the bottom shelf for everyone to enjoy. That’s right – enjoy. Theology is not merely an academic pursuit but…
Each week we will discuss a different theological concept and unpack its meaning in a way that is both edifying and applicable. Joining us will be local pastors and theologians with a desire to see you grow as we discuss the truths we hold so dear. We’ll define our terms, look at the pertinent Scripture, discuss dangers to be avoided and then always end on a practical note. We’ll make it easy for you to think through and then leave you with a few resources in case you want to dive in a little deeper.
