Depression is one of those things we don't like to talk about. As Christians, oftentimes depression is covered by fake smiles and cliché spiritual platitudes that we would like to think are true but merely serve to hide the shame we don't want anyone to know about. It is time to bring reality to the light. Man good Christian struggle with depression. This week our guest is Pastor Aaron Richert, the author of Depression in the Christian Life: Getting help up from people who have been down.

First podcast of 2023! This week we explore the unknown and maybe even the uncomfortable. My old friend Shaun Tabatt talks to us about his book, Real Near Death Experience Stories. Is there anything to these tales or are they just made up or delusions? Shaun suggests that not only are they true but they do indeed give us great confidence in God's Word. Come and check it out!

Merry Christmas! Welcome to our Christmas episode - one I had a TON of fun recording. It's A Wonderful Life is by far my favorite Christmas movie. This year I was introduced to Pastor Greg Asimakoupoulos who is a huge fan and the author of the book, Finding God in It's A Wonderful Life. I was expecting a cheesy book but found a really encouraging a helpful devotional work that has God used in my life. If you've seen the movie, you will love the book. You can see the heart of a pastor in each page. It's divided into short, easy-to-read chapters complete with discussion questions at the end. You can use it for your own personal use or could easily be used with your small group. Download this episode today and then get the book!!!

This episode picks up right where last week's episode left off - kind of... We welcome my former student Daniel Leach back on the podcast. After we recorded the message that was last's episode, we decided to record a little something on the way home from our lunch at Olive Garden. So, what follows is a little bit of a random conversation about evangelism.

Our last two episodes we spoke about the tragedy of abortion. In this episode we look at just the opposite, adoption. One of the lies some in the pro-choice crowd try to foist upon us is that children given up due to unwanted pregnancies are handed over to the foster care system. This is simply not true. Open adoptions are available and give the mother great control over who will take care of their child. Joining us this week is John Knox of the Opt institute to talk about a recent Barna research report that shows many mothers do not understand the options available to them. You won't want to miss this episode!!!

The Basic Bible Podcast seeks to take high-level theology and place it down on the bottom shelf for everyone to enjoy. That’s right – enjoy. Theology is not merely an academic pursuit but…
Each week we will discuss a different theological concept and unpack its meaning in a way that is both edifying and applicable. Joining us will be local pastors and theologians with a desire to see you grow as we discuss the truths we hold so dear. We’ll define our terms, look at the pertinent Scripture, discuss dangers to be avoided and then always end on a practical note. We’ll make it easy for you to think through and then leave you with a few resources in case you want to dive in a little deeper.
