It’s Basic Cable time! We get a little spoilery on some shows today so pay attention to the time codes in case you don’t want shows like American Vandal (Netflix) and Forever (Amazon Prime). We start it off with a brief recap of the Jeopardy All Stars Team Tournament draft (0:43), then News You Can’t Use is just about the annoying backlash surrounding the announcement that Maroon 5 will headline Super LIII. We recap the Emmys about as quickly as they seemed to air (7:38), and then SPOILER ALERT: discuss American Vandal season 2, and why on the whole, it didn’t work for us (11:45). Lucas was dying to talk about Serial season 3, so I let him (19:27), and SPOILER ALERT PART DEUX: Carlie watched all of Forever on Amazon Prime, and has some thoughts. Skipping our typical recaps this week because we have too much to talk about with the Jeopardy All-Star tournament and our picks for this year's Emmys. But first we start with a little News You Can't Use (3:20), then get into the Jeopardy All-Star tournament, this year it's a TEAM tournament, which is pretty exciting, so we do a mini-draft of the heavy hitters we'd like on our team (8:17), then from game shows to award shows, we do a rundown of who we think WILL and SHOULD take home Emmys this year.
